Born and raised in LaGrange, GA; Quay and his family have been entrenched in the history of LaGrange for decades. His grandmother, a loan officer committed to helping local residents secure affordable housing, was an integral part in shaping Quay into the man he has become, a man for the people.  Strong in her faith, she instilled a legacy of community service and giving back that led Quay to spearhead such initiatives as the Get Fed program to feed those facing hunger in LaGrange.  Quay continued the family legacy by starting a family of his own. In May of 2019, Quay became the doting husband to Jerika Smith, and they welcomed baby Harper to the family in 2021.  Quay considers it a blessing to do life with such beautiful and amazing ladies.

Long before he became an adult, Quay was making an impact in the LaGrange-Hogansville area as a scholar athlete for Callaway High School from 2009-2012.  Well respected by his coaches, teachers, and peers for his positive attitude and dedication to his team, Quay was known for leading by example. His commitment to sportsmanship was recognized with his recent induction into the Callaway High School Hall of Fame 2020 Class.

As a student athlete, Quay obtained his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in 2013 at Shorter University.  He returned to LaGrange and picked up his servant mantle where he left off, using his voice to bring the people together. His journey is to spread the message of hope and faith and encourage others to believe in themselves. He is well known for doing just that throughout the city of LaGrange as a motivational speaker, author, community advocate, and District 2 City Councilman; with a 3 month stint of being the acting Mayor of LaGrange.

Before the age of 30, Quay published his first book, Old Soul 22. Now at 33, Quay has authored three other books, I Am Somebody, Pocket Power, and Coffee: Wake Up and Be Great.  He has been featured on several media outlets throughout the state of Georgia for his work and was recognized by the LaGrange Daily News in their 20 under 40 Magazine which highlights local community members who make a positive impact in LaGrange.  He has served as a community leader as the Board Chair and President for Harmony House Domestic Violence Shelter and also as a board member for Habitat for Humanity.

With a genuine love for everyone in LaGrange, Quay has eagerly shared his message of hope at local churches, schools, youth events, conferences, and colleges. His passion for greatness and helping others achieve the same has changed the lives of many in the community, and it is his prayer that he can continue to do so.

Quay can be found on multiple social media platforms:  Facebook, Instagram, and Tik Tok.
